Hello, I’m Em Batzill (they/them) 🏳️⚧️ 🏳️🌈
I am a queer freelance illustrator based in Germany. What I enjoy the most, is finding unique ways to tell stories and connect with people through art. My work is simple but playful, character-based and often with a touch of humor. I find inspiration in my personal life and things that move or irritate me, letting my intuition and emotions lead the way as I draw.
This year, I have designed my first children's book and had the chance to draw my largest mural to date. Being constantly curious about learning and exploring new ways of storytelling, I am currently getting into stop-motion animation and comic illustration.
Besides being creative, I find joy in listening to music, going into nature, climbing and anime.
I studied Communication Design B.A. at the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences and Illustration B.A. for one semester abroad at the Falmouth University.
